2017 STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK February 27 - March 3, 2017
Our success at Texas A&M is a direct result of the numerous and diverse contributions of our staff, day in and day out, most often behind the scenes. Universities like ours earn their stature in the world because of their people. To honor our staff employees, we are again hosting Staff Appreciation Week at Texas A&M; see the schedule below. In addition to the events listed, we are planning special events for staff working non-traditional work hours; we’re bringing SAW2017 to you!
Remember to take photos during the week's events and tag them with #SAW2017 on social media and share them on the SAW Facebook Event page.
President’s Meritorious Service Awards
& Kick-off of Staff Appreciation Week
The President’s Meritorious Service Awards, proudly supported by the Association of Former Students, recognize outstanding individuals and teams for demonstrating their commitment to the Aggie core values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service. This year, the awards have been expanded to include more winners and larger awards. President Michael K. Young will recognize 25 outstanding individuals, two outstanding teams and two supervisors. Our extended Aggie Family, employees of SSC/Chartwells, are eligible for this prestigious award as well. A reception with food and drinks will follow the ceremony. For more information, visit the PMSA online. This event is also the Kick-off of Staff Appreciation Week at Texas A&M!

Department Appreciation Day
Friday, March 3 has been set aside for individual units to host special appreciation events/activities within their respective offices. The theme of these unit-level events/activities is “Aggie Spirit.” President Young is encouraging 100 percent participation in unit-hosted events/activities and is adding an extra incentive to encourage participation. Two departments will be selected at random to receive a $750 grant to be used for future staff appreciation and/or professional development efforts in 2017. In addition to the grants, one staff member from each of the winning units will be invited to serve on the following year’s SAW planning committee. So, how does your unit enter to win the grant contest? Units are invited to share photos of their department events to be entered into a random drawing. Read the full contest rules here.
Staff Emergency Fund
We have all experienced a sudden or unexpected expense that can create both emotional and financial obstacles. The Staff Emergency Fund (SEF) helps Texas A&M Staff members who are unable to make ends meet during a difficult time. By supporting the SEF, you can help make a difference, when help is needed most.
There will be opportunities to give at each of the SAW2017 events or you may want to sign up for an automatic payroll deduction by enrolling in the Lead by Example campaign.
Profit-share Events for SEF:
There will be several local profit-share events at various local restaurants during the week! Please invite your friends on facebook:
